Wednesday, September 27 - In our first monthly "Con Edison Family Science Night" of the school year, families will gather to explore a range of science topics and activities. Our September topic is Geology, the science that deals with the earth's physical structure and substance, its history, and the processes that act on it. Geology Rocks! Learn about the different types of rocks that make up the earth and how to classify them by finding out which are attracted to a magnet, which color streak they make, and how they react to vinegar. Then we will come together and compare rocks and minerals head-to-head using the Mohs hardness scale. These interactive programs are designed for children from 8 - 12 years old, with their caregiver.
