Trail Stewardship Orientation - Volunteer to become a "Trailblazer"
Saturday, September 23, 10 am
Please join us to learn how you can lend a hand to maintain the Greenbelt trails. This is a training session designed to prepare volunteers to conduct light trail maintenance on their own throughout the year. It’s great for friends and familes, hikers and runners, anyone who enjoys being outdoors and getting involved in keeping the Greenbelt in great hiking condition.
Following a brief indoor presentation, we will head out on a hike in the central Greenbelt. Along the trails, you will become more familiar with issues to address such light pruning, downed branches, overgrowth, debris and repairing trail markers. This workshop and volunteer program is suitable for those over the age of 14.
Dress for the weather and terrain. Work gloves will be provided. To register, please contact Jeanne Paliswiat at 718- 667-2165 ext. 311 or email: volunteer@sigreenbelt.org
