Greenbelt Native Plant Center Wild Seed Processing and Cleaning

10:00 am - 11:00 am
Victory Blvd. bet. Ridgeway Ave. and Travis Ave.

The Greenbelt Native Plant Center collects seed from wild populations of native plants around the region for use in horticulture and restoration projects on public lands in NYC. In the winter, the previous season's seed collections are cleaned for efficient storage and treatment before being grown out at the nursery. Please join GNPC’s seed collectors and staff in processing these wild collections. Work will be indoors and can be done sitting down. Please come prepared for inclement weather outdoors, sturdy footwear, and long-sleeved shirts that can get dusty or dirty. Space is limited and registration is required. Volunteers under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
