Tuesday, March 6 - Calling all citizen scientists to join us on the cusp of Spring as we begin Frog Monitoring sessions in High Rock Park.  The Greenbelt's environmental educators will lead the way to water bodies that frogs inhabit in High Rock Park.

Frogs and toads play an important role, serving as both prey and predator, in wetland ecosystems and are considered indicators of environmental health. Many previously abundant frog and toad populations have experienced dramatic population declines both in the United States and around the world and it's essential that scientists understand the scope, geographic scale, and cause of these declines

You'll learn a lot about our local ecosystem and all the creatures that live here.  Dress for the weather and terrain, and bring along a flashlight or headlamp.   Walking along our trails is involved and we will cover approximately one mile in distance. Feel free to call us at 718-351-3450 if you have questions.
