Carousel Senior Manager
Carousel for All Children, Willowbrook Park

The Greenbelt Conservancy seeks a Senior Manager to run our Carousel for All Children in
Willowbrook Park. The Carousel for All Children in Willowbrook Park is a beautiful Victorian-
style merry-go-round that opened in 1999. The carousel boasts carved wooden figures of
mythical beasts, endangered species, and traditional carousel horses. It also showcases
twenty hand-painted renderings of Staten Island landmarks, past and present. The Carousel is
fully accessible.  The ideal candidate will possess:  Mechanical skills, financial acumen,
experience in ordering inventory, excellent leadership and customer relations, and the ability to
communicate effectively.  The Carousel for All Children is maintained by the Greenbelt
Conservancy in partnership with NYC Parks. The Greenbelt Conservancy is a not-for-profit
organization that works in partnership with NYC Parks to promote, sustain and enhance Staten
Island's 2,800-acre Greenbelt through education, recreation, conservation and research.

DUTIES:
Assemble and train staff for the coming season: Establish and maintain staff work schedule for preseason tasks and in season
(May – October) operations. Review and approve weekly time sheets.
 Contact appropriate agencies and schedule annual NYC Building Department
inspections by the Electrical and Elevator Departments
 Order and maintain inventory of beverages, food, gifts, tickets, vouchers and
maintenance supplies
 Balance and review daily cash receipts and make regular bank deposits
 Vigorously ensure the compliance with NYC Health Department regulations and
be prepared for inspectors at any point during the season
 Perform regular maintenance repairs of the Carousel,
including regular lubrications.
 Foster a pleasant and courteous attitude toward the clientele

Carousel Associate
Willowbrook Park Carousel for All Children

POSITION: Carousel Associate
LOCATION: Willowbrook Park, 2 Eton Place, S.I. NY
STATUS: Part-Time/ Weekends
HOURS: Every Friday throughout May, Thursdays & Fridays in June, July, August, September.
SALARY: $15.00 per hour
REPORTS TO: Carousel Managers

RESPONSIBILITIES/ACTIVITIES:
 Support Carousel Managers in the day-to-day operation of the Carousel for All Children
 Assist managers in opening and closing the carousel to the public
 Assist in setting-up the daily cash banks for the food court, gift shop and ticket booth;
helping close out banks at the end of the day
 Report to work on time, fill out correct timesheets, and provide customers with quality
customer service
 Maintain safe handling of food at the food court
 Maintain the safe operation of the carousel
 Maintain the cleanliness of the area in and around the food court, gift shop, ticket
booth and carousel
 Assist managers with rental events at the carousel, both during hours of operation and
afterhours.
 Ensure timely, thorough and accurate reporting of any issues or concerns that arise on
site and relate them to the managerial staff
QUALIFICATIONS:
 Ability to communicate and work collaboratively and effectively with others
 Ability to work weekends
 Provide Excellent Customer Service
 Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. without difficulty, and stand and work on your feet for
long periods of time.
