THE WEDNESDAY NIGHT HIKE SERIES IS TEMPORARILY SUSPENDED. Wednesdays: This weekly evening group hike covers approximately five miles at a quick pace. All are welcome including children with hiking experience who can cover the distance. Please dress for the weather and terrain, and bring water and a snack if you think you will need it. Be advised that there are some inclines, exposed tree roots and uneven terrain along our course. This hike meets in all seasons. Beginning in October, headlamps or a flashlight is required. No advance registration is required for this free event. Join us! If the weather is deemed dangerous, the hike will be canceled, and posted first on our Facebook page. Please join us! – Sunday, February 16: Explore the rich history of the Civilian Conservation Corps Legacy, then participate in an outdoor trail service project to enhance the Greenbelt. Dress appropriately for winter conditions and working outside for 2+ hours. Ages 14+ (ages 14-17 will need written parental consent). Free program. Registration required via Eventbrite. Saturday February 8: Do bears live in the Greenbelt? Find out about the magnificent mammals that live in the Greenbelt, celebrate our love of animals, and decorate a teddy bear to take home.
