– Looking for a life-changing volunteer opportunity that includes leadership development, education, and technical work skills while giving back to your community and the environment? There is a free Greenbelt Conservation Corps recruitment event scheduled at the Greenbelt Nature Center. All Staten Islander’s interested in volunteering and building experience in natural resource management are invited to attend! Who we are: The Greenbelt Conservation Corps is a coalition of organizations and community members dedicated to conservation, stewardship, and education, facilitated by the Greenbelt Conservancy and NYC Parks. What we do: Join us for a hike in the heart of the Greenbelt, as we transverse the newly aligned section of the Red Trail. We will enter a scenic deep hollow which was home to an orchard long ago. Meet at the Greenbelt Nature Center, 700 Rockland Ave. This hike is approximately 90 minutes and has some hills.
