– Join the Greenbelt Conservation Corps for this ongoing 2022 trail stewardship project designed to engage individuals with a sense of community, and wish to make the Greenbelt a better place! This monthly GCC stewardship event will cover the basics of trail design, building, invasive species removal and maintenance requirements, while reestablishing a section of the N and E Trail in the LaTourette section of the Greenbelt. Required Gear: Long pants and boots/sturdy shoes. Please bring water, a snack, sunscreen, and insect repellent. Tools and PPE will be provided. Project site is accessible from the Greenbelt Nature Center on moderate and uneven terrain. Participants will be asked to carry tools and materials to and from the worksite. – Come stretch your imagination with the Environmental Educators in this recycled craft program to make your very own Recycled Robot! Using cans, plastic bottles, cardboard, and many other recycled materials which were destined for the landfill, we’ll make these unique constructions which will always remind us that we can repurpose just about ANYthing! Best for ages 6+ Register Here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/reduced-reused-and-recycled-robots-tickets-319014178997 – Please join us and the Protectors of Pine Oak Woods pulling and bagging invasive Garlic-mustard to improve the park.
