Saturday, February 15: Join us to run a section of the Cold Feat 5/10K trails course the week before race day. This is a free and fun running clinic made possible by the Greenbelt Conservancy. Our leader with be Patrick Eckelmann, an experienced runners who knows the Greenbelt trails well and can share his experiences and advice. Runners of all levels are encouraged to join this clinic to get to know the trails and try out the course. The pace will be determined by the participants. No registration is required for the clinic. Just show up on time, dressed for the weather and terrain, and ready to run. There is ample free parking on site. – Saturday, February 15: Join the Urban Park Rangers to learn about deer. We will find signs of deer in the park (buck rubs, deer scat, deer prints, and chewed twigs) hike outdoors, and share five tips to follow to promote a healthy coexistence with these animals. Meet at the Greenbelt Nature Center.

Save the date for everyone's favorite winter trail race! On-line registration is now open here. Saturday, February 22: COLD FEAT will once again offer two distance choices! The 5K runners will be on a separate part of the course, and will go out 15 minutes ahead of the 10K runners. Start/finish is by the historic David LaTourette House, which, today operares as the clubhouse for this beautiful golf course. The Cold Feat course begins on the rolling fairways and takes you off into the surrounding Greenbelt trails - rustic and hilly. In trail running, you will encounter uneven terrain, exposed tree roots, and sometimes mud. The course is marked but it's necessary to pay close attention to where you're running. This is a great trail race that attracts a friendly group of runners from Staten Island and the tri-state area. Runners are guaranteed a high quality running shirt or hat, chip timing and refreshments. An awards ceremony with medals for top three male/female winners, and three deep in age categories, will follow. Race sway is guaranteed to all pre-registered runners. We run in all weather conditions and, based on past race experiences, have found it can be done! The Grille Room bar will be open to serve runners over the age of 21. Hot chocolate and coffee will also be for sale.
