– Get to know the Greenbelt trails by joining us each month for a different hiking-adventure. In December we will hike the Red Trail and a portion of the blue trail from the Greenbelt Nature Center on this brisk paced hike. Distance is approximately 3-4 miles. We will meet and begin at the Greenbelt Nature Center located at 700 Rockland Avenue. Duration will depend on the pace/size of the group. Please be prepared for the weather, distance and terrain. Bring plenty of water and a snack. – Celebrate the harvest’s bounty by learning how to make this traditional Native American craft. Corn Husk Dolls span time and cultures, and are fun and easy ways to honor the spirit of corn while giving thanks for the abundant harvest. This program has video instructions and you can pick up FREE materials to get started on your very own Corn Husk Doll! – Join Chris and Angel from the comfort of your own phone or home on this Facebook Live virtual hike to explore the history, natural features, and recent stewardship projects along the Greenbelt’s Nature Center Trail (N-Trail). As one of LaTourette Park’s most traveled trails, there will be a lot to see and even more to learn about as we adventure through the pathways and changing seasons.
