– Join the Greenbelt Conservation Corps for this ongoing 2022 trail stewardship project designed to engage individuals with a sense of community, and wish to make the Greenbelt a better place! This monthly GCC stewardship event will cover the basics of trail design, building, invasive species removal and maintenance requirements, while reestablishing a section of the N and E Trail in the LaTourette section of the Greenbelt. Required Gear: Long pants and boots/sturdy shoes. Please bring water, a snack, sunscreen, and insect repellent. Tools and PPE will be provided. Project site is accessible from the Greenbelt Nature Center on moderate and uneven terrain. Participants will be asked to carry tools and materials to and from the worksite – This trek takes us up and down the hills of High Rock, passing glacial ponds chirping with sounds of frogs, and lazy turtles sunning on logs. Our destination will be the scenic view overlooking the golf course and the distant ocean. – Join us for a stroll as we listen and watch for the birds that call the Greenbelt home. Bring binoculars if you have them.
