– Become a community scientist and discover how you can help frogs and toads in our environment by identifying and monitoring their unique vocal calls. The Greenbelt’s FrogWatch USA chapter is part of a nationwide program that monitors and tracks amphibian populations by collecting data with help from volunteers like you! – – Join us for a hike in our “buckle of the Greenbelt”. We will observe the ponds of the area as we walk. Meet at the High Rock parking lot, 200 Nevada Ave., off of Rockland Ave. – Join Environmental Educators Christopher Ricker and Angel Ehlers on a virtual hike along Willowbrook’s White Trail to observe and uncover some of history’s hidden treasures and natural features. The educators will share the landscape of one of the Greenbelt’s most frequented parks, and even adventure to find a mysterious hidden chimney in the woods!

There is so much life in these woods, and learning to track wildlife is a great way to stay connected to them without getting too close! Join us for this short introduction to basic animal tracking to give you an idea of where to start identifying and reading the signs that animals leave all across the landscape.
