Women Greening the Globe is a symposium to celebrate women’s inspiring environmental advocacy and accomplishments in creating sustainable communities.  Our diverse group of speakers and presenters will motivate local residents, emerging leaders and the next generation of environmentalists.

GO HERE FOR A LIST OF OUR GUEST SPEAKERS

The symposium will focus on various themes including: Environmental Health, Conservation, Green Economy & Green Careers, Sustainable Agriculture & Food Access, Environmental Education, Community Engagement & Advocacy, Clean Water, Urban Park Revitalization and Environmental Justice.

Audience members will also enjoy a musical performance of African-inspired songs by Kaissa, acclaimed composer and songstress from the Republic of Cameroon.  Behind the beauty of the music, however, lies a message in Kaissa’s lyrics about the human condition, and speaking out against war and injustice. With her glorious voice, she pays tribute to her native Cameroon for its love of life and the human spirit.   Go here to sample her music.

The symposium and related follow-up field sessions in the Greenbelt’s forests and natural areas will emphasize our shared humanity and global responsibility for the health of our planet.

The program and speaker/presenter list for Women Greening the Globe (March 27) Symposium will be posted shortly.
