'Growing Food on Staten Island" is a documentary about gardeners and the food they grow. Many of the gardeners featured have been gardening for decades and possess
a deep knowledge of cultivation and food heritage. Since we all need to eat, it's important to document, archive and share their gardening know-how. As grow local movements across the country flourish, it's important to build on the wisdom of those who came before us. Information on local community gardens will be provided.

Kindly reserve your seat via email:  naturecenter@sigreenbelt.org  Light refreshments will be served.  This program is free.

Funding for this event is provided by a > grant from the New York City Council, including Council speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito, Council Member, Donovan Richards, and the Staten Island Delegation, Council Members, Joseph Borelli, Debi Rose, and Steven Matteo.
