Join us on a Tuesday each month during the school year from 11:45- 12:45pm for ages 5—9 at the Greenbelt Nature Center and from 11:30—1:00 pm for ages 10-14, and  at High Rock Park, for themed programming designed with your homeschool learner in mind. Our knowledgeable staff and volunteers, and our resources are here to help you expand and enhance your curriculum.

Fee: $8 per session for non-members/$6 Greenbelt Conservancy members. Pre-registration and pre- payment required. Pay for four sessions, and get one for free! Below are the curriculum topics for our October lessons.  Click here to register

I. Owls of the Greenbelt for ages 5 -9

Greenbelt Nature Center - 11:45 - 12:45
Learn about the raptors of the night that live in the forest, and explore their diet with a hands-on owl pellet discovery dissection. Click here to register 

II. Bat Program for ages 10- 14

High Rock Park, 200 Nevada Avenue
Discuss bat anatomy, behavior, and their ecological importance. Play the "Bat and Month" game to gain an understanding of echolocation. Students will construct two bat houses as a group. (Note to parents: We will be using hammers, nails, etc. to construct the bat houses. Click here to register
