Sustaining and enhancing the Greenbelt's
open space in Staten Island, NY through education, conservation, research and prudent recreation

2019 is the Year of the Greenbelt!

The Greenbelt, at 2,800 acres, the largest of New York City’s many parks, turns 35 this year. The Greenbelt Conservancy which works to preserve this green treasure, will be 30 years old. It’s been 20 years since the Carousel for All Children struck up the band organ, and 15 years since the Greenbelt Nature Center opened its doors. Join us in this time for celebration! Look for the “Year of the Greenbelt” logo. It will guide you to exciting events and fun things to do. – Bonnie Fritz, Greenbelt Conservancy President
