Textile Transformations II: From a Social Distance!

Take part in a participatory fiber arts project while staying with your pod.

Local artist Janice Patrignani will provide materials and Zoom tutorials about the fiber arts Techniques of natural Echo Printing and Dyeing. To participate, you'll first pick up a materials packet, then go for a short walk in search of leaves. Trace the leaves onto a cotton cloth with fabric markers. Pack up all the leaves that you traced and put all the supplies back into the packet, return it to the Greenbelt Nature Center, and receive follow-up Zoom and an invitation to pick up your textiles “transformed.”

This project funded in part by a DCA Art Fund Grant from Staten Island Arts with public funding from the NYC Department of Cultural Affairs. Recommended for ages 6+.
