Dear Parents:

The Greenbelt Summer Day Camp at High Rock Park is a New York City Department of Health licensed program. Day camp offers guided environmental education opportunities, hands-on outdoor experiences, team building, crafts, and other fun activities, led by experienced staff in Staten Island’s 2,800 acre Greenbelt.

Campers are placed into small groups for each of the five week-long sessions (Monday-Thursday) from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m, from July 8th to August 8th.  Our camp is great for nature lovers, young-scientist, creative types, and adventurers alike!

Young Buds (ages 5-6)

Young Buds gives children the opportunity to experience nature in the heart of the Greenbelt

Campers will participate in sensory activities, crafts and outdoor exploration to discover the wonders of the forest. Your little naturalist will have fun learning about the animals, rocks, plants and trees of High Rock Park.

Explorers (age 7-10)

Explorer Camp introduces hiking skills, forest ecology, and outdoor adventure to Greenbelt campers. Campers participate in group hikes, science experiments, crafts, and other fun activities to expand creative inquiry, create confidence in outdoor situations, and increase knowledge of our local ecosystem.

Trail-blazers (age 11-13)

Trail-blazers provide adventure and outdoor leadership opportunities for older campers ready for challenge. Campers participate in service learning projects, leave no trace ethics, and outdoor skills, focusing on leadership and group dynamics and offering a “next step” for future outdoor leaders.
