Con Edison Family Science Nights in the Greenbelt

Session 7: Food Science

New date: Wednesday, March 28, 6:30 pm

This event  has been rescheduled from Wednesday, March 21

Greenbelt Nature Center, 700 Rockland Avenue, Staten Island, NY

This monthly series is generously funded by Con Edison, through August, 2018.

Families are invited to gather to explore a range of science topics and activities. A few short, self-guided activities will start families thinking together, followed by a full group activity.   Families with children ages 8-10 years old are welcome to register for these events.

The topic for our March session is: Food Science

Yes, you have permission to play with your food! Test different food items for the presence of essential components like fat and starch, explore techniques that blend physics and chemistry with cuisine, then transform food from a liquid to a solid using just your hands and a few minutes of effort.  Click here to register your family online.

Registration is required, and class size is limited; we will maintain a waiting list as sessions fill quickly.  Call 718-351-3450 to add your name to the waiting list if you have been closed out of registering.
