Calling all campers who love learning about the natural world! The Greenbelt’s parks and trails offer so much to observe and enjoy especially if you know where and how to look. We’ll teach you! High Rock Park is our camp headquarters as it has been for generations
This year on Saturday, November 19, we had 250 runners on Greenbelt trails to enjoy the last of the Fall foliage, and fellowship of running together. The course took runners along Willowbrook’s White Trail and around the lake; it is flat and well suited for novice runners and walkers as well as more competitive athletes. The course is clearly marked with overhead ribbons. Race shirts, refreshments and awards round out this yearly event. Thank you all for coming, and supporting the Greenbelt Conservancy.
The term “understory” refers to the vegetation that grows beneath the main canopy of a forest. Here, we use the term for our seasonal bulletin, which is designed to share information about what’s happening throughout the Greenbelt’s parks, open space and trail system as well as at our facilities. Take a look, and then come visit us for a great summer adventure!
