About the Trail Run Festival

Our first trail run festival presented by the Greenbelt and New York Adventure Racing Association (NYARA) was held in 2011. A great day of trail running was had by all. Participants choose a 50K, 25K, 10K, or 5K course. The 50K and 25K are technical courses with exposed tree roots, rocks and lots of ups and downs. The 10K course has some elevation, exposed tree roots and rocks. The 5K course is a relatively flat course with some elevation and many exposed roots and rocks. Aid stations with water, cola, sports drink and snacks are located throughout the course. Several of the aid stations have restroom facilities. All Greenbelt and NYARA races are professionally timed culminating in an awards ceremony. Refreshments and race appropriate apparel are provided for runners.  Proceeds support the Greenbelt Conservancy and NYARA, two great non profit organizations that help keep Greenbelt trails open and maintained.
